The Smithsonian exhibit on Black midwives you can visit from your living room

Did you know that the Smithsonian puts some of their museum exhibits online?

Right now, the National Museum of African American History and Culture has an online exhibit about Black midwives, available for free!

For those of us who don’t know these stories yet, there’s so much to learn here. So many Black American midwives have worked to honor the dignity and save the lives of Black families, in systems and with people who were actively working against those goals.

I love the tenacious and joy-filled pictures, at the bottom especially. Here’s one of those, which I’m posting here under the Smithsonian’s permission to use their online resources for education.
