What I’ve been reading

I’m proud to report that I’ve saved $6,696.06 so far this year by using our public library. (I love that they tell me every time I get a receipt.)

I’ve worked hard on reading more this year, and I’m excited to share with you some of what I’ve been reading. Some books are for school; I try to give my students options of different relevant books to read. Two of the classes I teach are “Hurting and Healing: the sociology of healthcare” and “Intro to Sociology with an emphasis in Health and Diversity”. If you’re curious what options my students have, check out the lists below!

And, I’ve been of course reading grief books.

And, finally, I’ve been reading a smattering of other books. You can check out my 5-star reads at this list:

Do you have any recommendations for me? Comment them below!

  1. Hi Abby! I’ve come across a couple of books that have made me think of you and your work. If you’ve read them, I’d love to hear your take. One is more on fertility than loss, I believe: Nicole M. Roccas’ Under the Laurel Tree: Grieving Infertility with Saints Joachim and Anna. The second is Lindsey M. Henke’s When Skies Are Gray: A Grieving Mother’s Lullaby, about the stillbirth of her daughter and then her experience of expecting again after that loss.
